The lightweight units fits around the thigh above the user's knee and just below the knee. The system also includes the Intelli-Sense Gait Sensor, a wireless sensor that detects gait events while navigating uneven surfaces, changes in elevation and walking speeds, and a portable, handheld control unit that communicates wirelessly with the system in order to select operating modes and stimulation parameters. All four components are designed to operate as a single unit through wireless integration.
