A Comprehensive Introductory Course on Accessible Information Technology in Education on the Web

Paper discusses an introductory course on accessible information technology in education piloted by the University of Washington’s National Center on Accessible Information Technology in Education and funded by the National Institute on Disability and Rehabilitation Research. The course is interactive, while lessons include accessible multimedia presentations that focus on an introduction to basic concepts, terminology, and key policy issues. Also included are sections on each of the Information Technology categories included in Section 508 of the Americans With Disabilities Act. The course is designed to be fully accessible to students with disabilities.
