ITSE Project Improved Assistive Technology Services

Paper focuses on the results of Finland’s Information Technology Systems Engineering (ITSE) Project, which was created to promote assistive technology (AT) expertise among staff who work in the welfare and healthcare service industry. The ITSE Project developed ten operational models for the provision of AT in healthcare, while it created seventy-seven networks for related services and education. The project also created 15 guides to support the provision of AT services. The ITSE Project was implemented in 18 local projects and covered a total of 288 counties. A total of 659 training events with 12,321 participants were organized. This report was generated by the National Research and Development Centre for Welfare and Health in Helsinki, Finland.
