Picture of ICONVERSE iConverse is a direct selection and symbolic communicator program designed for use by children and adults with communication or speech disabilities or autism. This program enables an Apple iPhone or iPod Touch to function as an alternative and augmentative communication (AAC) system for people who cannot speak, have difficulty speaking or have not yet mastered language. The program comes with six built-in colored icons that display basic everyday needs: Bathroom, Drink, Food, Sick, Break and Help. When the user touches the icons, the icons give both an auditory and visual presentation of the specific need or want. Both male and female voices are available. The program also allows the user to create personalized icons. The user can either use the built in text-to-speech engine or record his or her own voice to associate with created icons. COMPATIBILITY: For use with the Apple iPhone or iPod Touch. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 3.0 or later.
