  1. MTI PHOTOSCREENER

    --- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 4/2000) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The MTI Photoscreener is a specialized camera designed to detect possible vision problems in pre-verbal and special needs children. This lightweight, portable camera uses ultra-high-speed black and white film from Polaroid and works through the concept of photorefraction to identify eye disorders such as astigmatism, myopia or hyperopia without requiring dilation of the pupil. This opthamalic product is designed to be operated by persons with a variety of skill levels: health service technicians, trained volunteer screeners; pediatricians or family practicioners. When operating, the camera is held a meter away from the person's eye while performing a 30 second photo process.
