Emacspeak is a voice output program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This program provides voice output for the Emacs desktop that runs on UNIX and Linux operating systems. Voice output is provided for built-in Emacs functions, including its text editor, e-mail application, calendar/appointment program, cd-player, and games, as well as for additional applications that can be added to Emacs, such as Web browsers, the LaTeX text editor, mp3 players, and others. The program uses aural foramtting to present electronic information, with full support for the ACSS (Aural Cascading Style Sheets) specification of the World Wide Web Consortium (W3C). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: UNIX or Linux operating system.
