Cicero Text Reader is a reading machine program designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This reading machine program uses optical character recognition (OCR) to turn a personal or laptop computer connected to a scanner into a reading machine with voice, large print, or braille output. It scans documents using Recognita's 32-bit OCR engine, and starts talking automatically as soon as the page scan is complete. The user can start and stop speech instantly with a key press, or browse through a document using the cursor keys. Users with low vision can view the document on screen in large print, with a choice of high contrast colors and fonts. The program also supports refreshable braille displays, and can export scanned text directly to a braille translation program (not included) for the production of embossed braille documents. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers.
