The Graphic Aid for Mathematics is a tactile aid for math designed for students who are blind or have low vision. It is used in the construction of graphs and other mathematical figures necessary for the study of arithmetic, algebra, geometry, trigonometry and calculus. It is particularly useful for coordinate geometry and for graphing algebraic equations. The aid consists of a cork board mounted with a rubber mat embossed with a 34 by 30 grid of 1/2 inch squares. Pins are inserted to mark coordinates, and connected with rubber bands to make straight lines. Flat spring wires between pins make circles or arcs.
