ATIA 2010 Conference and Exhibition

REHAB Dubai 2010

2010 University of Washington Second Workshop on Technology and Disability in the Developing World

June 18, 2010 in Seattle, Washington

The University of Washington’s Second Workshop will be a multi-disciplinary gathering with practitioners, technologists, social scientists, and industry partners. This workshop will focus on low-cost assistive technologies (AT) appropriate for developing country environments. Aspects to consider in addition to affordability when determining appropriateness of AT include safety, durability, utility, maintenance, infrastructure limitations (e.g. lack of electricity, lack of personnel trained in providing AT services), and socio-cultural relevance. 2010 National American with Disabilities Act (ADA) Symposium Conference

June 20, 2010 to June 23, 2010 in Denver, Colorado

The 2010 National ADA Symposium conference is designed to provide attendees with information on the latest information on ADA regulations and guidelines, implementation strategies, and best practices through dynamic, interactive sessions. Community Participation by People with Disabilities: "How Do We Measure Up?”

October 28, 2010 to October 29, 2010 in Overland Park, Kansas

This state-of-the-science conference is the culmination of four years of translational research designed to enhance full community participation by people with disabilities. Researchers with the Research and Training Center on Measurement and Interdependence in Community Living (RTC/MICL) have used multiple methods and measures to discover, assess and intervene in both personal and environmental factors related to community participation. The 2010 Interagency Disability Educational Awareness Showcase (IDEAS) is the federal government's premier conference on Section 508 compliance and accessible workplace technology for people with disabilities.
