--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 02/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Duxbury Braille Board is a braille translation program designed to translate written text into grade 2 braille for individuals who are blind or have low vision. A simplified version of the Duxbury Braille Translator for Windows (see separate entry), the Braille Board is very flexible in its mode of operation. (Verified 02/2009) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The Duxbury Braille Editor (Edgar) is a Braille text editor that allows blind and sighted transcribers to compose and edit Braille files in DOS. For blind users with screen access devices, the Braille can be viewed as ASCII text instead of Braille graphics. Additional features include: multiple file editing, no practical limit on file size, and page formatting capabilities. Edgar may be used either with, or independently of, the Duxbury Braille Translator (see separate entry). COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM PC or compatible computers. 7. TACTILE GRAPHICS DESIGNER PRO Picture of TACTILE GRAPHICS DESIGNER PRO

--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 01/2013) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. ---Tactile Graphics Designer Pro (TGD Pro) is a braille graphics program designed to produce braille or tactile graphics for individuals who are blind or have low vision. TGD Pro is a product combining two programs, QikTac (see separate entry) and TraceME. TraceME is a drawing program specifically designed for freehand sketching, tracing, and/or transforming of color photographs, line drawings, clip art, or scanned images into a tactile form for output to a braille printer or to braille graphics paper (capsule paper). With the combination of QikTac and TraceME, it is possible to transform pictures from a 'photorealistic' form (a photograph, painting or other line drawing) into a dot based braille graphics image. TraceME also includes a low vision mode. Over 200 graphics files are included in SIG (TGD files for embossing), BMP, JPG, and GIF formats. TGP Pro operates in Swedish, Spanish, English, Norwegian, Malay and Brazilian/Portuguese. German is available in a beta version. The manual is available in English only. COMPATIBILITY: For use on IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Millenium, or Windows 2000 US/English.
