BIBLECOURIER
The BibleCourier is a digital talking book player pre-loaded with a digital Bible, designed for use by individuals who are blind or have low vision. This is a streamlined version of the manufacturer's BookCourier digital talking book player (see separate record), containing only those features that enable the user to navigate the text of the Bible. It is available with a variety of translations, including King James, American Standard, New International, and others. The text is read by a built-in text-to-speech reader, RC Systems DoubleTalk. The user can move by verse, chapter, or book, and can place virtually unlimited bookmarks in each book. An automatic bookmark saves the user's place on closing. Voice type, reading speed, and volume are adjustable, and words can be spelled out. The unit's other features include the following: a sleep timer; built-in Talking Help for every key on the keypad; a built-in talking user guide that explains how to use all the features; a stereo headphone jack (earbuds included); and an attached pocket clip. POWER: Uses 2 double-A batteries (included) providing up to 40 hours continuous use. DIMENSIONS (HxWxD): 4 x 2 x 0.75 inches including pocket clip. WEIGHT: 4 ounces with batteries.
