Picture of NO LIMITS TRIKE -------- CUSTOMIZED ADAPTATION --------- PURPOSE: To create a custom adapted motorized power tricycle add on for manual wheelchairs for individuals with lower extremity or mobility disabilities or spinal cord industry. The No Limits Trike is a power system complete with a power drive including a wheel with 12 inch disk brakes, motor, and a 24 volt battery pack mounted on the front fork with handle bar. The trike includes a left side brake lever and right side variable speed twist throttle that can be attached to virtually any manual wheelchair (standard folding or sports chair). The drive unit includes a docking device for either a folding wheelchair or a rigid frame wheelchair, and it can be installed with the user sitting in his or her wheelchair without any tools. After attaching the docking device to the wheelchair, the rear support from the trike slides into the receiver under the wheelchair seat where the battery pack is installed and the device is ready to use much like a three-wheel motorcycle. The No Limits Trike can reach top speeds of 12 miles per hour and can be broken down to fit in overhead compartments on airplanes or in the trunk of any car. AUTHOR: Ian Ruder.
