Technology Assessment of the U.S. Assistive Technology Industry

By Baker, Stephen; Cahill, Margaret; Teeple-Low, Stephanie; U.S. Department of Commerce - Bureau of Industry and Security
Publication Date: February 2003

Report presents results of a study conducted to assess the overall status of the assistive technology (AT) industry, identify challenges confronting AT manufacturers, and determine what opportunities exist for strengthening the industry. Data was obtained through literature searches, direct contacts and interviews with industry executives, as well as an industry-wide survey. The survey also asked AT companies for their views on how the industry has been affected by federal and state regulations governing AT devices and services.
