CSUN’s Experience With IBM WebAdapt2Me for Easy ReadingBy Marks, Aaron; Axistive,
Publication Date: December 2006
Article focuses on WebAdapt2Me from IBM, which allows people with disabilities to customize the way they browse the Internet. The program allows students and teachers to adapt online textbooks by changing the size of the type, the color of the contrast for easier viewing. The page layout can also be altered for a more simplistic view or to make the page more accessible to screen reader software for people with visual or learning disabilities. WebAdapt2Me will be available to all faculty members and students attending California State University in Long Beach, including adults who return to school to train for new careers as well as participants in the school’s Senior Citizen Educational Program.
