Applying Assistive Technology Concepts to Non-Disability Problems

By Chubon, Robert A. University of South Carolina, Columbia, SC; Proceedings of the RESNA '94 Annual Conference, Vol. 14
(Pages: 212-213) Publication Date: 1994

This paper discusses the ways in which the layout of the instrumentation panels in commercial airliners decreases the in-flight efficiency of pilots. It then considers a potential remedy in the re-design of computer keyboards explored in disability access research, thus illustrating the potential of technology transfer.
