Accessibility Improvements for Travel Booking Websites

Article describes an enhanced search option for travelers with disabilities visiting the travel website Expedia.com. Travelers in the United States can specify accessibility requirements when using Expedia’s search engine, which will then search its 15,000 hotels with published accessibility options, examples of which include accessibility equipment for the deaf, accessible bathrooms, Braille or raised signage, and roll-in showers. Expedia’s staff will contact hotels to verify that specific requests can be met before confirming a booking. The service will be available in Europe starting July 2010.
