Next Product »--- DISCONTINUED. (Verified 08/2012) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- MacSpeech Lab is a hardware and software package for the Apple Macintosh which allows speech patterns to be displayed graphically. A hardware unit (MacADIOS) accepts the incoming audio signal and translates it into a digital signal. The software translates this signal's various characteristics into graphic representations on the computer screen. Viewing options include: wide and narrow band spectrograms (showing progression of frequency spectra with time), spectra displayed in fast Fourier transform (FFT) plots, fundamental frequency (variation of vibration of the larynx in an utterance), and multiple window viewing of several displays simultaneously. The user can edit, save, delete, play, append, amplify, zero, offset and normalize segments of an utterance. Utterances can be saved to disk and graphic displays printed out on an Apple Imagewriter or Laser Writer. COMPATIBILITY: For use on the Macintosh Plus, SE, SE/30, and Classic (MSLI, $3550); and Macintosh II models (MSLII, $4990). SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: The MacADIOS voice input/output hardware is required in order for the MacSpeech Lab software to function.
