The program offers complete keyboard control, dual word prediction, abbreviation expansion, and speech output. Keyboard control includes adjustable accept time and repeat rate, as well as the ability to press key combinations in sequence rather than simultaneously. EZ Keys provides complete mouse emulation and enables the user to use a range of input devices, including the standard keyboard, an expanded keyboard, joystick, mouse, single and multiple switch scanning, and Morse code. Input modes can be switched at any time without exiting the program. The dual word prediction and abbreviation expansion features reduce the number of keystrokes needed to generate text, and word endings may be added automatically. Other features include SideTalk for rapid text-to-speech output, pre-programmable instant phrases, spoken abbreviation, and a Reader function that enables users to deliver pre-written speeches to large or small groups. Users can make adjustments to the program to meet their needs, and the program a wide range of selection styles and auditory feedback, as well as many color schemes and scanner arrangements. Environmental control capability is also included (optional hardware is required). For those who do not require alternative or augmentative communication, EZ Keys is available without the speech component to provide adaptive computer access only. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Minimum requirements are Windows 2000 or XP, 233 MegaHertz (MHz) or faster processor, 64 megabytes (MB) RAM, 10 MB free hard disk space, and standard parallel port. Recommended requirements are Pentium class 300 MHZ processor, 128 MB RAM, 30 MB hard disk space, standard parallel or USB port, and Sound Blaster compatible sound card (for speech output).
