Picture of READPLEASE PLUS ReadPlease Plus is a screen reader program designed for use by individuals with low vision. The user manages the program by clicking on VCR-type controls (play, pause, stop, fast forward, backward) that appear on-screen. The program also has a low vision mode in which the controls and text can be shown in large print and high-contrast colors. The program can read any size Windows file, including e-mail, starting at any selected point in the file. Text can be read in any of four Microsoft voices (Mary, Mike, Sam, and Marilyn). Voice speed and pitch can be adjusted, and pronunciation of words can be customized. The user can set the program to pause between paragraphs when reading, and to ignore any character chosen (for example, "<"). COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP; Pentium 200; 16 megabytes (Mb) random access memory (RAM); 20 Mb free disk space.
