It is designed for independent use because no prior reading or keyboarding skills are required to use the program. The program offers enhancement of spelling and handwriting skills and every lesson requires the learner to complete handwritten work as well as computer work. Topics include: consonants and vowels; use of articles; five phonetic skills; showing possession; special vowel sounds; decoding skills; spelling; contractions; digraphs; and more. The program is intended for teaching adults and covers levels zero through fourth grade levels. The CD-ROM technology provides program branching for more individualized instructions. Mistakes can be corrected immediately and the human voice soundtrack provides instant feedback, telling the learner what the answer should have been. COMPATIBLITY: IBM and compatible version. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: IBM 640K; 3.5 inch disk drive for network version; CD-ROM drive for individual pakage; monitor; printer; Covox "Speech Thing" Speech Processor (internal board); headphones are optional.
