Picture of STEDY The Stedy is a transfer aid or standing designed for use by individuals with balance, lower extremity, mobility or walking disabilities or spinal cord injury. This mechanical device is used to move a person short distances, such as to and from the toilet, or to assist a person to stand. From a sitting position, the user can grasp the crossbar at the top of the frame and pull up to a standing position. To use the Stedy to transfer the user, the caregiver then flips down the seat, and the user sits down and places his or her feet on the footplate. Handles extend from the top front of the frame so that the caregiver can push the user to the desired destination with the user facing the caregiver. The Stedy has four casters, and the rear two casters have wheel locks. OPTIONS: Support sling for dry transfers. DIMENSIONS (HxLxW): 41.5 x 34 x 24.25 inches. WEIGHT: 37 pounds. CAPACITY: 264 pounds.
