The Bionic Ear is a battery operated (9 volt) personal amplification system that increases sounds by up to 30 decibels. The unit is in the form of headphones which, along with wrist straps, allows free use of the hands. An omni-directional microphone is used to give a broad range of sound pick up. An automatic safety circuit prevents sounds over 95 decibels from reaching the user's ears. Includes a 3.5 mm mono output jack to enable the amplifier to be used as a high powered microphone for recording. Easily snaps in and out of the Bionic Booster 12-inch parabolic reflector (see record for Bionic Booster).

Notes: This product was designed for hunters, naturalists, and search and rescue teams, but is applicable for use by persons with hearing disabilities. The Bionic Ear does not have FDA approval as a hearing aid, nor does Silver Creek Industries classify it as such. However, the company has had clients with hearing disabilities use their products to either increase their hearing capacity or to protect themselves from further hearing loss.
