--- DISCONTINUED. RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- Behind the ear device provides a custom shaped noise spectrum for the purpose of masking tinnitus. Masking noise customized by circuitry and transducer/selection to conform to tinnitus pitch and level. Suitable for individuals with no hearing impairment where masking noise has demonstrated some cessation of tinnitus. dispenser adjustments include earmold modification or use of acoustic filters which will modify noise spectrum. Optional: user adjustable noise spectrum response switch and a dispenser adjustable noise spectrum potentiometer. Uses a wide band receiver unless contraindicated. Recommended battery: S76 Silver Oxide Cell. Typical range of noise output sound pressure at full noise control setting: 70 to 105 db SPL as measured unfiltered with HA-2 2cc coupler and 0.984 inches of number 13 tubing.
