The Posture Control Walker is a child's walker designed for use by children 18 months of age through adolescence with mobility disabilities. Available in six sizes, these reverse walkers are designed to make walking less energy consuming and improve rhythm and timing. The walkers have folding anodized aluminum frames and most models are available with two wheeled front legs and two rear legs with crutch-style tips to create friction with the floor and slow walker speed, or with four wheels. The smaller walkers are available with a choice of a "B" or "J' frame style. The lighter weight J frame is available in the three smallest sizes only, is suitable for limited ambulation, and has two support bars behind the user. The B frame is slightly bulkier and heavier than the J frame to accommodate an older user and more vigorous ambulation; three support bars behind the user provide greater reinforcement. The H frame is designed for an older, taller, heavier user and is designed for use with four wheels. All styles provide support behind the child, requiring a more upright posture and placing the center of gravity within the walkers base of support. In all frame styles, the upper most bar strikes the hip extensors during single limb stance, facilitating extension on the weight-bearing side. The handgrips with flanged ends olace the child's arms and hands at his/her sides as he/she takes weight on the extended arms. The depth of the walkers prevent the hands from getting too far ahead of the body. As the child grows and develops, this configuration allows the elbows to be slightly behind the midline of the body, aiding thoracic extension and scapular adduction for straighter, more upright posture. The PostureRest Walker offers the same features as the Posture Control models plus a built-in seat that folds up when not in use. The PostureRest walker is available in most configurations. OPTIONS: Forearm supports, pelvic stabilizers, guide handles for small frame, all-terrain wheels, and leg extensions to convert to two-wheel, four-wheel, or four-wheel walkers with locking front swivel wheels. COLOR: The B and H frames have red handgrips and the J frame has blue grips. The smaller sizes are available with a choice of a blue or silver frame. The larger sizes and the H frame are available in silver only.
