--- DISCONTINUED (Verified 7/2000) RETAINED IN DATABASE FOR REFERENCE. --- The XL Comp is a lightweight sports wheelchair designed for strength and maneuverability in wheelchair athletics and everyday use. FRAME: The frame is made of high alloy 6061 T-6 aluminum and is available with electrostatic powder coating in fourteen colors. A hemi-height frame is available at no extra charge. SEAT: The rigid seat is available with an optional folding back. Seats are 12 to 20 inches wide and 14 to 18 deep, with custom widths and depths available. CUSHION: Optional back and seat cushions are available in 1, 2, and 3 inch thicknesses with or without rigid bases. Wedged seat cushions and 1 and 2 inch medium density foam seat cushions are also offered. UPHOLSTERY: Black mesh air-flow or black velour upholstery is standard. ARMRESTS: The standard chair comes without armrests. Rear pivoting, height-adjustable armrests with foam or padding or rear attaching, swingaway, height-adjustable armrests with or without pads are available at extra cost. BRAKES: Push to contact, low mount wheel locks are standard. Push to contact, high mount or pull to contact high mount wheel locks are extra cost options. CASTERS: Adjustable 5 inch, narrow poly casters are standard. Regular 5, 6, or 7.5 inch poly casters are available at no charge. 6 or 8 inch pneumatic casters, 8 inch Kevlar belted pneumatic casters, 8 x 1.75 inch super casters, and quick-release casters are also available. WHEELS: Multi adjustable axle location with camber adjustability and quick release axles on rear wheels are standard. The standard rear wheels for this chair are 24 inch spoked wheels with pneumatic tires. Solid tires are available at no charge. 20 and 22 inch spoked wheels and 20, 22, 24 inch mag wheels are also available, as are semi-pneumatic super tires and Kevlar belted pneumatic tires. Powder coated pushrims are standard. Friction coated pushrims and projection pushrims are available. FOOTRESTS: A one-piece rigid footrest with calf strap is standard. Adult and junior swingaway footrests, footrest paddle plates, and footrest platforms are available. OPTIONS: Spoke protectors, push handles, cloth or rigid side gaurds, underseat pouch, trays, anti-tippers, and others. WEIAGHT: 26 pounds complete. WARRANTY: Five-year frame waranty; one year on components other than normal wear items.
