This study sought to determine the effectiveness of tendon transfer surgery, combined with functional neuromuscular stimulation (FNS), in restoring voluntary control over elbow extension, wrist extension, and thumb pinch, in individuals with C5 quadriplegia. A specialized robotic manipulator which can resist arm movements in a controlled manner will be used to evaluate the surgical reconstructions and FNS system.
