  1. B.A. BAR Picture of B.A. BAR

    B.A. Bar is a voice output bar code communication aid, cognitive aid, and speech teaching device designed for use by individuals with autism, aphasia, cognitive disabilities, or brain injury. This portable unit has a digital voice and can record and play back words and sounds programmed on barcodes. Adhesive barcode labels are glued onto objects or symbol panels; scanning enbles voice output. The codes are also available in a graphic file, enabling them to be printed on documents. Up to 10,000 bar codes can be assigned statements, words, or sounds, with a total recording time of 240 minutes (4 hours). As a speech training device, the unit can stimulate and facilitate communication for individuals with autism, trisomy, or language disorders such as aphasia. The device enable rapid communication while helping the user to identify objects, compensating for word finding difficulties. Users with no speech capability can utilize the unit to participate in games. The unit is particularly helpful in situations where information or a specific word must be repeated. The device also corrects pronunciation errors and assists in speech orientation and memory/recall. The unit supports memory retention by recalling information such as instructions and assignments. Those with only short term memory for tasks and on-the-job procedures can get their work done. The unit is available in a full-featured standard model or a basic model with fewer features.     The BlueMouse is a mouse with built-in wrist support designed for use by individuals with neurological or upper extremity disabilities, Parkinson's disease, or paraplegia. The mouse has a palm-shaped depression with spaces for the fingers, enabling a secure grip. A built-in magnet holds the mouse securely on the mouse pad. Trembling is counterbalanced so uncontrollable movements do not affect the mouse pointer. The cursor holds its place when the hand is removed from the mouse. The unit connects to a PC via a USB connection, and is recognized automatically. COMPATIBILITY: For use with IBM and compatible or Macintosh computers. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Windows 98SE, 2000, XP, or Vista operating system or Mac operating systems. DIMENSIONS (LxW): 5.3 x 7.7 inches.

    The Senior Mouse is a mouse designed for use by individuals with upper extremity disabilities, neurological disabilities, arthritis, cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, muscular dystrophy and carpal tunnel syndrome. This device is designed to assist people who have difficulty using or are unable to use a standard mouse. The device supports the entire hand and is shaped to fit the curvature of the hand, ensuring a secure grip and counterbalancing trembling so uncontrollable movements do not affect the mouse pointer. The cursor holds its place even when the user removes his or her hands. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: USB connection.

    SwitchMouse USB is a mouse emulator and switch or joystick input interface designed for use by individuals with upper extremity or severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. This interface allows the user to connect switches to any computer to operate various computer programs by translating switch activation into mouse clicks or button depressions. The individual movements of a conventional mouse are simulated by either a joystick or several single switches, which are directly connected via ports. Instead of moving the mouse, the respective movement (up, down, left, right etc.) is initiated by a switch or joystick. Single switches can also be connected for mouse buttons and special functions such as drag-and-drop and double click. The joystick's trigger contact can be assigned different functions. Speed and acceleration of the mouse pointer are adjustable via two controllers.
