The Access Dinghy 2.3 Wide Seater is an accessible sailboat designed for use by individuals with severe physical disabilities or spinal cord injury. It can be sailed by one or two sailors. Narrow side decks require a solo sailor to swivel his or her upper body weight to windward to keep the boat dry in breezy conditions. The boat has a wide hammock seat for two children, two small to medium sized adults, or one adult and a child. It comes with manual joystick steering. To prevent capsizing and promote stability, the boat has a ballasted centerboard and a concave hull shape. A roller reefing system enables the sailor to adjust the size of the sail to suit various sailing conditions while the boat is under way. DIMENSIONS: 7 feet, 6 inches long; beam, 4 feet, 1 inch; and draft, 2 feet 6 inches. The sail area is 42 square feet (reefs to 5.4 square feet)and the mast is 13 feet, 9 inches tall.
