AccessNote is a word processor program and voice input and output audio notetaker program designed for people who are blind or have low vision. This application (or app) allows a person to use their Apple iPad, iPhone or iPod Touch as an electronic notetaker. It is designed particularly for people who use the VoiceOver feature (see separate entry) of Apple's iOS. AccessNote creates notes in the .TXT file format, and it can also import .TXT files from e-mail or Dropbox accounts. The AccessNote home screen is titled "All Notes" and provides a list of all saved notes, which includes a table index for quickly scrolling through notes. New notes may be created by tapping the "+" button, and there two search features for finding text globally across all notes and within an individual note. Once the user is in a note, the app offers a "Review" button for going into a read-only mode, and cursor tracking that always keeps the user's place when he or she returns to a note. The app is compatible with both QWERTY and refreshable braille display keyboards that can connected to the host device, and it includes keyboard commands for both types of keyboards. AccessNote also includes a user guide and an interactive tutorial. COMPATIBILITY: For use with an Apple iPhone, iPod Touch, or iPad. SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS: Apple iOS 6.0 or later.
