DIY Travel Games: Maze Fun is an activity designed for fidgety children with fine motor and learning disabilities to do. DIY Travel Games: Maze Fun works on visual motor tracking and planning as well as pincher grasp. It is part of a set that includes Tic Tac Toe, Triangle Peg Solitaire, and Alphabet Learning. Each DIY activity is made with washi tape.
Step 1: Gather materials.
- Washi tape cut into strips
- Some counters (pom poms, pebbles, buttons, etc.)
- Large zip lock bag
Step 2: Design a maze on the zip lock bag using washi tape (as pictured or a shape or a road).
Step 3: Move a counter through the maze from start to finish.
Step 4: Reposition washi tape to create a new maze.
Caregiver or child can draw some black lines down the middle of your tape and you have a road for a little car to drive down. Draw some lines across the washi tape to create train tracks.
