The Kindle Touch and Kindle Touch 3G are voice output electronic book (e-book) readers that can be used by individuals who are blind or have low vision or other disabilities that make reading difficult. These multi-touch portable e-book readers include a text-to-speech feature that will read aloud all books in English that are loaded onto the reader. Both models of the Kindle Touch hold up to 3,000 books in 4 gigabytes (GBs) of storage, and each can be used with audio books. Books can be downloaded from Amazon wirelessly through a WiFi Internet connection on both models, and the Kindle Touch 3G also can download material through Amazon's exclusive 3G service with no annual contracts or monthly fees. Books can be downloaded in less than 60 seconds. Other features include glare control and access to PDF documents. Its X-ray feature also includes a tap the lets readers view all passages across a book that mentions ideas, fictional characters, historic figures, places or topics of interest as well as more detailed descriptions form Amazon’s community-powered encyclopedia. This book reader is also features dictionary look-ups, notes and highlights, and support for password-protected PDF documents. The Kindle's E-ink display presents text in three font styles and eight font sizes. The display also allows text to be viewed like print on white paper. Both models of the Kindle Touch feature Whispersync technology which synchronizes the last page read bookmarks and annotations. Free Web-based (cloud) back-up is included.
